Jeffrey Archer, Master of Plot Twists On and Off the Page, Dies at 86

Jeffrey Archer, bestselling novelist and former Conservative politician, has died at 86. HarperCollins said he died suddenly and peacefully at home on Monday between writing sessions. He sold more than 300 million books, including Kane and Abel. Once an MP and party deputy chairman, he was jailed for perjury in 2001 over a 1987 libel case. His final novel, Adam and Eve, lands this month.
