NHS sending home HPV test kits to millions of women

NHS sending home HPV test kits to millions of women

Millions of English women who have not attended cervical screening appointments are to receive complimentary at-home testing kits from the NHS. The kits contain a swab to collect a sample, which is then posted back to NHS labs for testing for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). If HPV is found, women will be invited for a follow-up cervical screening appointment with a clinician.
