NHS changes pharmacy blood pressure checks to once every five years

Controversial changes to pharmacy blood pressure checks started on Thursday, September 3, with patients now only able to get checked every five years. NHS England updated the service to stop people using it for regular monitoring, which Community Pharmacy England says is a “sub-optimal” use of funds. However, the National Pharmacy Association warns this could leave people unaware of heart attack or stroke risks.
