New UK law will force Apple, Google to block child nudity

The government will introduce new legislation after talks with tech firms failed to reach an agreement by Tuesday's deadline. Lisa Nandy, the culture secretary, informed MPs that devices used by under-18s will be prevented from being used to capture, distribute, or access nude images. Age verification will be required for adults to switch off nudity-blocking features, which privacy campaigners have warned about.
