New Drug Deal: Better Access but Higher NHS Costs
Patients in Britain could gain greater access to life-extending treatments under the UK-US medicines deal. British pharmaceutical exports to the US will avoid tariffs for at least three years. However, critics warn NHS costs will rise sharply. Global Justice Now estimates the UK could spend an extra £9bn annually on medicines by 2035.
