Government considers law stopping Andrew from becoming King
Officials are exploring new legislation to ban Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the royal succession line once a police inquiry ends. Currently eighth in line for the throne, the King's brother was arrested on suspicion of misconduct but denies wrongdoing. Changing the rules requires approval from Parliament and every Commonwealth nation where King Charles is head of state. Several politicians have already signalled their backing.
