Burger King tests AI headsets in 500 US restaurants for politeness
Restaurant Brands International, the Miami-based parent company of Burger King, is testing AI-powered headsets in 500 US restaurants. The system, called BK Assistant, features a voice AI named Patty powered by OpenAI that tracks keywords such as 'welcome', 'please' and 'thank you' to give managers insights into service patterns. Burger King says the tool is a coaching aid, not a way of scoring individual workers, and plans to expand it to all 7,000 US restaurants by the end of 2026.
