Taliban says it would support Iran if the US attacks, but stops short of joining conflict
The Taliban has said it would offer sympathy and possible assistance to Iran should the United States strike the country, though its spokesman stressed this would not automatically involve the Sunni group in any ensuing war. Speaking to Radio Iran’s Pashto service, the Taliban also expressed a preference for diplomacy over conflict and claimed Iran “won” a past 12-day war with Israel and the US. Kabul says it does not seek direct engagement in broader hostilities.
