Reform Ends Labour's 47-Year Hold on Tameside Council
Reform UK ended Labour's 47-year unbroken control of Tameside, winning enough seats to deprive the party of its majority. In Salford, Reform won 13 of 21 contested seats, leaving Labour with its lowest share of council seats since 1978. Nationally, Labour lost over 100 council seats in early results, while Reform gained more than 150 across England.
