FCA seeks stronger AI rules for consumers
Better protection could reach people using AI for money decisions as concerns grow about fraud, cyber threats and consumer harm. A review led by Financial Conduct Authority executive Sheldon Mills urged the UK government on 6 July 2026 to give the regulator wider powers over critical technology providers. Around 11 million UK residents said they'd use AI for financial decisions.
