IMF raises UK growth forecast to 1% as war fears ease

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has increased its UK growth prediction for this year to 1%, upgrading it by 0.2 percentage points from April. The UK is now the G7's third fastest-growing economy, just behind the US and Canada. The upgrade suggests the incoming prime minister, Andy Burnham, might inherit an economy less affected by the Middle East conflict than first thought.
