MPs reject outright social media ban, Kendall gets age restriction powers.
Children won't face an outright social media ban, as MPs chose to support more flexible rules for online access instead. On Monday, Education minister Olivia Bailey urged the Commons to dismiss the full ban, backing alternative powers for the Science Secretary. Science Secretary Liz Kendall will now gain powers to restrict or ban children of certain ages from specific online services.
