More students choose living at home over rising university costs

Over 81,000 UK 18-year-olds plan to live at home this year, making it the highest number in nine years. The figure represents just over one in three students, compared to one in five in 2017, with students citing rising accommodation costs as a major factor. The Department for Education says it is increasing maintenance loans and grants to help with living costs.
