The BJP's victory in West Bengal on Monday ends Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress's 15-year rule, marking the first time the party has ever won the state. By mid-afternoon, the BJP had won or was leading in 200 of 294 seats, against TMC's 87. Analysts say the result significantly strengthens Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national standing.
