Minister Josh Simons faces ethics probe over journalist claims

Cabinet Office minister Josh Simons is under investigation by the Prime Minister's ethics watchdog, Sir Laurie Magnus. This follows allegations that Labour Together, a think tank he previously ran, paid a PR firm at least £30,000 in 2023 to investigate journalists. These journalists had covered Labour Together's undisclosed donations. Simons also faced accusations of falsely linking journalists to a "pro-Kremlin" network in emails to GCHQ in 2024.
