Microsoft tracks staff AI spending after one employee spent $28,000

Microsoft is now tracking how much its employees spend on AI tools after one person racked up $28,000 in just 28 days. The company's internal data showed a median spend of about $300 per month, but some individual maximums exceeded $10,000. Jay Parikh, an executive, told staff to focus on customer outcomes, not just using AI, as Microsoft shifts to a single default AI model.
