Meta pauses 2Africa cable work in Persian Gulf
Global internet traffic, especially across Africa and the Middle East, faces potential disruption and slower speeds. Meta Platforms Inc. has stopped building a section of the 2Africa undersea cable network in the Persian Gulf because of the Middle East war. The planned 45,000-kilometre system is set to be the world's largest fibre-optic cable network.
