The Metropolitan Police has settled a claim from Tej Singh Bhandal, a 68-year-old pro-Palestine campaigner arrested at St Pancras station under terrorism powers. He was detained and handcuffed after declining to hand over his phone PIN when returning on Eurostar in June. Counter-terror police admitted the stop did not meet legal requirements, apologised to him and dropped the criminal investigation against him over the refusal.
