Britain’s Political System Explained: Lower House vs Upper House
Britain has a parliamentary political system with two chambers: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The House of Commons is the lower house, made up of elected Members of Parliament who represent citizens and form the government. The House of Lords is the upper house, consisting of appointed experts who examine laws in detail and suggest improvements. The Commons has the final say, while the Lords provide checks and balance.
