Max Verstappen's race engineer leaves Red Bull by 2028
A significant change is coming for Max Verstappen’s team support in Formula 1, as Red Bull confirms a key departure. Gianpiero Lambiase, who has been Verstappen's race engineer and head of racing, is leaving the team when his agreement ends in late 2027. He is understood to have made a deal to join competitor McLaren in a senior trackside role for the 2028 season.
