Mandelson quits Lords as Starmer refers Epstein leak dossier to police
Peter Mandelson resigned from the House of Lords Tuesday after Prime Minister Keir Starmer handed a dossier to police revealing the peer shared confidential government briefings with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The leaked emails, sent while Mandelson was Business Secretary, contained market-sensitive data regarding the financial crisis. Starmer immediately ordered legislation to strip Mandelson’s title, declaring the former Labour minister let his country down as Metropolitan Police review misconduct allegations.
