Man Gets £8,500 Ulez Fines for Cloned Car

Drivers can face substantial penalties from cloned number plates, as one individual was issued £8,500 in Ulez fines. The vehicle's license plate details were illicitly duplicated in October, leading to 17 fines issued by Transport for London concerning journeys the owners never undertook. TfL eventually cancelled the charges after evidence confirmed the vehicle was not involved, with plate cloning cases now reaching 13,000 each year.
