A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody after suspected explosives were found near the Aberfan Memorial Garden days before a royal visit. Stefan Dale is charged with making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or property. The find was made on 17 October, shortly before the King marked the disaster's 60th anniversary. He next appears at Cardiff Crown Court on 4 December.
