Man admits racist abuse of England footballer Jess Carter

At Blackburn Magistrates' Court, Nigel Dewale, a 60-year-old from Great Harwood, Lancashire, admitted to sending offensive messages to England player Jess Carter. The messages, sent via TikTok during the Women's Euro 2025, contained racist abuse. Carter previously discussed leaving social media due to the racist comments she received. The UK Football Policing Unit arrested Dewale in August. He will be sentenced on March 25, officials confirmed.
