Couple's Christmas kindness creates 45-year family

Rob and Dianne Parsons answered their Cardiff door on December 23, 1975, to find Ronnie Lockwood, a homeless man with learning challenges who was carrying a frozen chicken. The young couple invited him in for Christmas dinner, and he never left. Ronnie, who had spent much of his childhood in care, became family for 45 years until his death from a stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic. The extraordinary act of Christmas kindness transformed all their lives permanently.
