UK government borrowed £700m less this year

UK government borrowing was lower than expected, a positive development for the chancellor. Authorities borrowed £132 billion for the year ending March, £700m below the OBR’s forecast. The total stood £19.8 billion less than the prior year, yet remains the sixth highest recorded.
