Marks & Spencer says pre-tax profits climbed to £355m in the six months to late September, up from just £3.4m a year earlier, when hackers forced its website offline. Group sales grew 16% to about £9.2bn, led by food. But clothing and homeware profits are still below pre-attack levels, with bosses blaming stock shortages and a hot summer, and expecting improvement in the coming months.
