Oxford scientists begin first human trial for new Ebola vaccine
Scientists at the University of Oxford have started the first human trials for a new Ebola vaccine, eight weeks after a public health emergency was declared. The vaccine, one of four currently being developed, is set to be administered to 50 healthy adults in the UK "within weeks". Researchers used the same technology as the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, allowing rapid development and manufacture of about 620,000 doses.
