Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won the Brazilian presidency with 51.79% of the vote, finishing approximately 4.4 million votes ahead. Outgoing President Jair Bolsonaro called Sunday's two-hour voting extension "inexplicable" and said he would seek to annul the result. Annulment is considered highly improbable by electoral law experts, and Lula is set to commence his new term on 5 January 2027.
