Lord Falconer warns assisted dying bill may fail in Lords.
Lord Falconer warns the Terminally Ill Adults Bill has no hope of becoming law this year unless the House of Lords alters its approach. He threatened to use the Parliament Act to override peers if the bill isn't passed before May's King's Speech. Although the legislation cleared the Commons last summer, government sources suggest it is unlikely to pass the Lords, proposing a Royal Commission as a potential compromise to address safety concerns.
