London trains halted by big fire near Hackney
London train services were suspended, causing travel chaos for passengers. The incident stemmed from a substantial fire near Hackney Central, from which immense visible flames and dense, dark smoke emanated. A team of around sixty fire brigade personnel worked to extinguish the conflagration at Cottrill Gardens, which had engulfed vehicles, a caravan, and an embankment, bringing it under control by 8.42pm.
