London councils challenge government funding cuts over huge tax rises
Three London councils are launching a legal challenge against government funding cuts, which could force them to impose the biggest council tax rises ever seen. Politicians met with representatives from Wandsworth, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster councils on Wednesday to discuss appealing the significant cuts. Wandsworth faces losing £84 million a year by 2030 and may raise council tax by up to 160%.
