Lloyds may remove Halifax bank brand

Many customers could see a long-standing bank name disappear from Britain's high streets. Lloyds Banking Group is reviewing its brands, potentially phasing out the Halifax name from as early as 1 July. While no branch closures are planned, new Halifax accounts won't be available online, and transfers to Lloyds begin in autumn.
