Liverpool twice took the lead in Istanbul, through Trey Nyoni's first senior goal and an Alexander Isak header, but Fenerbahce responded each time and won 3-2 when substitute Vedat Muriqi headed in late. All three home goals came from set pieces, ending Liverpool's perfect Champions League record. It was a second straight defeat for Andoni Iraola's side, coming just days after Sunday's loss to Arsenal.
