LG smart TVs record private conversations even when off, research finds
Security research has found LG smart televisions are recording private conversations and sending data back to the company, even when apparently turned off. The investigation by Gamers Nexus and Level1Techs used tools like Wireshark to find extensive privacy breaches, including collecting plaintext transcripts. The only way to stop this is to disconnect the TV's Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections, as stopping smart TV functions isn't enough.
