Jakarta airport reopens after Anak Krakatau volcano ash clears

Indonesia's main Jakarta airport and four other airports, which had been closed for two days due to volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau, resumed operations on Tuesday. The volcano began erupting late on Friday, sending ash into Jakarta and Lampung province, disrupting nearly 3,000 flights. More than 340,000 passengers were left stranded because of the extended closures.
