Lebanon’s deadliest day - 182 killed as Israel escalates despite ceasefire

Israeli strikes across Lebanon killed at least 182 people and wounded 890 on Wednesday, making it one of the deadliest days since the conflict with Hezbollah began on 2 March. Lebanon’s health ministry said the total death toll has now reached 1,739 with 5,873 wounded. The strikes came hours after the US-Iran ceasefire was announced, with Israel insisting the agreement does not cover its operations against Hezbollah.
