Lebanon: 52 Dead. The Retaliation Chain After an Assassination.
Lebanon's Disaster Management Unit has confirmed that Israeli airstrikes on Monday, March 2, killed at least 52 people and wounded 154 others, revising an earlier health ministry toll of 31 dead. The strikes targeted Beirut's southern suburbs, south Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley, displacing over 28,500 people. The attacks came in response to Hezbollah launching missiles and drones at northern Israel in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei by Israeli-US strikes on Saturday.
