Laser device causes bomb scare at Avalon Airport
Travellers faced disruptions and Avalon Airport's domestic terminal closed for several hours due to a bomb scare. On Thursday, May 21, police responded after security flagged a suspicious item at about 6am, leading to a lockdown. The item, which caused two Sydney flights to be cancelled and one Brisbane flight delayed, was a laser hair removal device.
