Labour plans 300,000 youth job placements
More young people could get training and interviews as ministers try to reduce rising unemployment among those aged 16 to 24. Pat McFadden said the government will add 300,000 work placements during the next three years, mainly through six-week Swaps courses linked to guaranteed interviews. Nearly 100,000 Swaps happened in 2025-26, with construction providing almost 17,000 starts and Manchester Airport Group among participating employers.
