US military used Claude AI to capture Maduro

The Wall Street Journal reports that American forces utilised Anthropic’s artificial intelligence model during a mission to seize Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela. This operation, which reportedly resulted in 83 deaths across Caracas, accessed the technology through a partnership with contractor Palantir. While the software maker explicitly prohibits violent applications, it remains the only AI developer currently accessible on classified government networks.
