Water Supply Issues Disrupt Service to Thousands of Kent Homes

Approximately 4,500 homes in Kent, particularly in villages around Maidstone, experienced water supply disruptions. South East Water attributed the issue to an electrical fault at a treatment works and apologized for the inconvenience. While the issue was reportedly resolved, some areas, including Linton and Bidborough, continued to experience low pressure or intermittent service. Bottled water collection points were established, and water regulator Ofwat is launching an investigation into the repeated water supply failures in Kent and Sussex.
