EDF offers 10,000 vulnerable homes free fans, curtains to combat heat
Energy firm EDF has launched a new £1 million scheme to help vulnerable households cope with extreme summer temperatures, providing free fans and cooling towels. Up to 10,000 eligible customers will receive support worth about £100, which may also include blackout curtains. The EDF initiative arrives after more than 10,000 heat-related fatalities were recorded in the UK from 2020 onwards.
