Storm kills one. Thousands without power in UK
A fatality occurred in Cornwall as Storm Goretti felled a tree onto a caravan. Across England and Wales, more than 20,000 residences are without power. Disrupted travel includes train cancellations and school closures. Birmingham Airport experienced a temporary closure. The Met Office has issued amber warnings and forecasts up to 20cm of snow for Scotland. The storm produced wind speeds reaching 99mph. Power outages continue to affect the South West.
