Universities face stricter rules to stop campus extremism
The government is launching new measures to shield higher education staff and learners from radicalisation and harassment. The Office for Students will inspect how institutions handle risks, including safety checks on visiting speakers. Authorities can penalise or deregister colleges that ignore these legal obligations. Additionally, a new whistleblowing process will allow employees to report serious wrongdoing directly to the regulator.
