Birmingham Airport Flights Halted Due to Radar Problem

A radar technical issue led to the halting of flight arrivals at Birmingham Airport on January 12, 2026. The disruption resulted in multiple flights being canceled, diverted, or otherwise affected. A power outage caused by bad weather at a National Air Traffic Service (NATS) also contributed to the issue. NATS came under fire last year from airlines due to air traffic problems that resulted in over 1,000 flights departing the UK being affected.
