YouTube turns its search bar into an AI chatbot

Google is bringing conversational AI search to its biggest content platform. A new feature called Ask YouTube launched on Tuesday for US Premium subscribers aged 18 and over, replacing the standard search grid with a chatbot interface. It returns text summaries with cited video clips, Shorts and timestamped links, with the experiment running until 8 June before any wider rollout.
