Rolls-Royce chief endorses Germany joining UK fighter program.
Rolls-Royce head Tufan Erginbilgiç has endorsed Germany potentially joining the UK-led Global Combat Air Programme. The Derby-based manufacturer believes Berlin’s participation would significantly bolster the stealth fighter's international marketability. This follows growing instability in the rival Franco-German initiative, with opposition leader Friedrich Merz casting doubt on its suitability for German defence. As technical rifts widen between Paris and Berlin, a German pivot towards the British, Italian, and Japanese alliance could fundamentally redraw Europe’s strategic industrial map.
