UK now sees four “nationally significant” cyberattacks each week

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) reports that in the 12 months to August 2025 the UK recorded 429 cyber-attacks, with 204 classified as “nationally significant” — more than double in the previous year. The UK is now experiencing around four major cyberattacks each week, with 18 of these in the past were classified as highly significant due to their effects on critical services or the economy. The surge underscores escalating threat levels and urges all organisations to boost resilience.
