FTSE 100 Falls 4.2pc This Week
UK stock markets recorded their worst weekly performance since April last year for the mid-cap index. The FTSE 250 fell 4pc this week, while the FTSE 100 dropped 4.2pc. Concerns over the Middle East conflict impacting energy supplies and inflation drove these declines. European gas prices rose over 50pc this week, and Lufthansa warned of uncertainty, suspending flights and reporting a 3pc drop in 2025 net income.
